The Theme and Symbolism

The development of the theme of good versus evil seems to be obvious at first. The evil being Artemis Fowl overpowering the good Fairy People. One may notice that the author used this theme in order to attract the interest of the readers. If you’re reading books enough, you will get what I’m trying to tell here. Heroes are always expected to win. But with the villains in the control and, apparently, the winner in the story, it brings interest and excitement.

But Artemis and his constituents were not purely evil. For instance, Artemis has a soft heart when it comes to his mother, Angeline Fowl. Butler honors the request of Captain Short to spare the life of the troll in return for her helping him regain his strength and save her sister, Juliet. Lastly, Juliet is a good-natured young woman who softens everybody’s mood.

Only the setting of the story is symbolic not to the story but to the authors life. It was discussed already in the setting part.
